Welcome to Bookworms of Helensburgh, an independent bookshop dedicated to the pleasures of reading. Alongside novels and gift books, we maintain a wide variety of books in our shop, both new and secondhand, including Scottish and local heritage and history, children’s, military, nautical, mind body & spirit, travel, maps, cookery and reference. |
Bookworms likes to support local authors and holds signing sessions to help promote their new publications.
Our most recent events took place during Independent Booksellers Week (15–22 June 2009), when promotional offers were available.

We can order books for you, with most UK titles available within a day or two, and American titles within a week or so. |

As well as new publications, we have a selection of secondhand books, including novels, biography, railway, military, history, classics, and foreign fiction.
We also stock greetings cards, calendars and wrapping paper and have an exclusive line of local postcards.
Helensburgh, with its individual shops, attractive architecture and broad tree-lined streets, is located on the Clyde coast, just downriver from Glasgow and close to Loch Lomond and the Faslane Naval Base. The town plays host to the annual Lomond and Clyde Springfest, and has a large number of community activities such as book groups, choirs, orchestras, concerts, art exhibitions, and heritage groups.
